SURF MONSTER
Close your eyes and you can almost smell it — board wax and brine, the hum of a Fender cranked through a reverb tank, something strange and electric underneath. That's Surf Monster: a San Francisco three-piece with a debut album produced by Bay Area jazz-funk legend Jerry Stucker, packed with original compositions that smuggle in saxophone, Theremin, and siren vocals between the waves. Steve Walton, Desmonde Mulcahy, and Michael Molenda bring the full cowabunga experience to 375 Bush Street. Surf classics, originals, and covers. No cover charge. Full submersion.

Project Pimento
As a fixture on the Lounge/Exotica/Tiki scene, Project: Pimento conjures up high-class, jet-set elegance with its sultry, theremin-led lounge vibe.
The San Francisco-based band features the amazing theremin stylings of Dr. Robby Virus and brings its veritable retro-space-age-soundrack to life with sizzling vocals by Miss Lola Bombay (Lori Carsillo) and the irrepressible and irresistible drumming of Jimmy Boom (Phenomenauts, Slackers). Adding to this intoxicating mix, are Ube Ev on guitar, Fredo Barbado (Aggrolites, Tiger Army, The What Four) on upright bass and special featured guest, Fisherman on vibes.
Countless performances throughout the Bay Area and beyond have included The Fillmore Jazz Festival, Bimbo’s 365 Club, The Bay Area EMMY Awards Ceremony, and a regular at the venerable, world-famous tiki festival, Tiki Oasis. To date, Project: Pimento has produced two full-length albums, recorded several original songs for a short film series and received two nominations for the SF Weekly Music Awards.
In the words of Steven M. Martin, Filmmaker, Writer, Director of Theremin: An Electronic Odyssey, “Project: Pimento is a true ensemble…a great jazz/pop combo, real musicians with real chops with real instruments, behind a great looking singer whose voice sounds like a smile. They are tight. And fun. And essential listening for every 21st century playboy and playgirl.”

DEAD KAMPERS
Dead Kampers was formed in Santa Cruz, California, in 2018 by guitarist Donny Campion and drummer Holland Barry. The band's name may or may not be derived from a secret, illegal mountain biking trail.
Dead Kampers started out playing surf classics as well as originals, evolving to a more aggro sound, blending rockabilly swagger and rowdy cowpunk with reverb-drenched, Dick Dale-inspired surf guitar. The result is a hybrid that Donny calls "outlaw surf." The band is known for their high-energy shows dominated by Campion's blistering fingerwork and Barry's ferocious, surf/punk/metal-inflected signature style, anchored by Gary Boodt's driving basslines. Dead Kampers are currently assaulting the West Coast and available for venues, festivals, and other public events, as well as private bookings.

Frankie and the Pool Boys
Live music at Pagan Idol presents:
Frankie & the Pool Boys:
Surf band, party band. There's five of them, they all play in other bands that you might have heard of (Pollo Del Mar, The Deadbeats, The TomorrowMen,Meshugga Beach Party) if you are familiar with the tiny cult that is instro-mental surf music. They sure know about you– you dance to the surf beat, you dig tunes without all those dumb lyrics and you're always prepared to have a good time.
So, who are “Frankie & the Pool Boys” really? Just a bunch of teenage idiots without a care in the world. They have fake I.D.s, day jobs cleaning your pool, and a night shift parking cars, fake I.D.s. They’ve got a ‘72 Mustang (w/ 8-Track!) that will be rolling any day now, a date with your daughter next Friday and big, big plans for the future.
