Tues Feb 5: Ukulenny (Hawaiian/Uke)
Lendl San Jose is an avid performer and educator. In addition to his own guitar/ukulele and singing career, he has also performed in pit bands for musicals, choirs, rondallas (Philippine traditional string band), marching band, wind ensembles, and orchestras. Currently he is a member of the vocal faculty at Oakland School for the Arts, and also teaches group ukulele lessons during summertime.
Wed Feb 6: Nova Jazz (Bossa Nova)
Hailing form North Beach in San Francisco, the Nova Jazz Quartet plays original and classic Bossa Nova and Latin Jazz. Performing dozens or original works as well as classics from Cal Tjader and Antonia Carlos Jobim, the sound of Nova Jazz is reminiscent of the great Stan Getz / Joao Gilberto recordings of the 1960's. From slow and sultry to quick and danceable, Nova Jazz gets it right at Pagan Idol

Emerging into the light of day from their respective East Bay basements, the Deep Basement Shakers have stumbled upon an ancient alchemical formula involving a beat-up piano, discarded soup cans from impulsively consumed emergency earthquake kits, and the sweetest sounding wooden napkin holder you'll ever hear. Specializing in primal, joint-rockin' barrelhouse blues n' boogie, the Shakers bring to life old-school, good-time, steady-rollin' grooves from the deep musical traditions of places like St. Louis, Texas, Chicago and New Orleans. But this ain't no history museum where you can't touch the glass; The party's on now - let's get down!
